INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE IN HELSTON, CORNWALL

Release tension held in your shoulders, neck, scalp and face while giving your mind the chance to truly switch off.

Indian Head Massage in Helston, Cornwall

If you're carrying the weight of a busy life in your shoulders, finding it difficult to switch off, or noticing tension creeping into your neck, jaw or head, Indian Head Massage can help you slow down, unwind and simply breathe.

It's one of those treatments that many women don't realise they need until they experience it. What often surprises them isn't just how much lighter their shoulders feel, but how much quieter their mind becomes too.

Working across your upper back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands, scalp and face, the treatment focuses on the areas where we naturally hold onto stress and tension, helping your whole body begin to let go.

What Makes This Treatment Different

Traditional Indian Head Massage techniques are at the heart of every treatment, but I don't believe one approach suits everyone.

That's why I always begin by finding out how you've been feeling and what you'd most like support with. From there, I tailor your treatment to you, adapting the areas I spend more time on and the techniques I use to reflect what your body needs on the day.

Alongside massage to the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, arms, hands and face, I may also incorporate carefully selected facial and hand reflexology points. Woven naturally into the treatment, these help encourage even deeper relaxation while supporting your overall wellbeing.

Some women come because they're struggling with headaches, jaw tension or tight shoulders. Others simply need an hour where nothing is expected of them, and they can completely switch off for a while.

Whatever brings you here, my aim is always to create a treatment that helps you slow down, release the tension you've been carrying and leave feeling more like yourself again.

Benefits Of Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage may help:

  • Ease stress, overwhelm and the physical effects of a busy life
  • Release tension held in the neck, shoulders, scalp, jaw and upper back
  • Calm a busy or overactive mind
  • Encourage deeper relaxation and more restful sleep
  • Help relieve jaw clenching and teeth grinding
  • Ease tension headaches
  • Support mental clarity when you're feeling mentally drained or foggy
  • Leave you feeling lighter, more grounded and refreshed

Then underneath:

Many of us carry tension without even realising it. Stress, poor posture, long hours at a desk and the demands of everyday life can all leave the muscles in your neck, shoulders, scalp and jaw feeling tight and overworked.

By gently working through these areas, Indian Head Massage helps your whole body begin to soften and relax, often leaving you feeling lighter, calmer and better able to cope with whatever comes next.

Who's It For?

Indian Head Massage is a lovely choice if you're feeling the effects of stress, tension and the demands of everyday life.

It may be particularly beneficial if you:

  • Carry tension in your neck, shoulders or jaw
  • Experience tension headaches
  • Clench your jaw or grind your teeth
  • Spend long hours sitting at a desk or using a computer
  • Feel mentally overloaded, overwhelmed or constantly 'on'
  • Find it difficult to switch off and relax
  • Experience mental fatigue or brain fog
  • Simply want an hour to switch off and enjoy some well-deserved time for yourself.

Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs, helping you release tension, relax more deeply and leave feeling lighter, calmer and refreshed.

Treatment Details

Your Indian Head Massage is usually carried out in a comfortable seated position, allowing you to fully relax while I work on the areas where stress and tension so often build up.

We'll begin with massage to your upper back, shoulders, neck, arms and hands using a beautifully blended massage oil. Depending on how you're feeling, I may also incorporate carefully selected hand reflexology points to provide more personalised support for your individual needs. A combination of soothing and stimulating techniques helps release muscular tension, encourage healthy circulation and leave you feeling relaxed yet refreshed. The pressure is always tailored to your preferences, from slow, calming massage through to deeper work where needed.

The treatment then moves to your scalp, where many women are surprised by just how much tension they've been holding. As your scalp begins to relax, it's often not long before the rest of your body follows.

A soothing facial massage using a beautiful rose-infused blend follows, together with carefully selected facial reflexology points, helping to deepen relaxation while allowing me to tailor the treatment even more closely to your individual needs.

If you choose, coconut oil can also be used on your scalp and hair to enhance the experience. This is entirely optional, although a small amount of oil may still come into contact with your hair depending on the techniques used.

Treatment Length: 60 Minutes
Position Usually seated
Oil Use: Coconut oil may be used on the scalp and hair. Please let me know if you would prefer minimal oil use.
Pressure: The treatment can be adapted from gentle and relaxing to firmer pressure where appropriate.

Personalise Your Treatment

Indian Head Massage works beautifully alongside many of my other treatments and can be seamlessly incorporated into your appointment to create a more personalised experience.

If you're combining Indian Head Massage with one of my facial treatments, we'll usually begin with massage to your upper back and shoulders before you settle onto the treatment couch. The treatment then flows naturally into massage of your arms, hands, scalp and face before continuing into your facial, creating one beautifully relaxing experience.

Some clients choose to combine Indian Head Massage with Facial Cupping for an even more deeply relaxing treatment. Together, they can be particularly beneficial if you're experiencing tension headaches, jaw tension, facial tension, sinus congestion, tight shoulders or stress-related muscular discomfort, while giving you even more time to relax and unwind.

Whichever combination you choose, every treatment is tailored to how you're feeling on the day, helping you leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and cared for.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my hair become oily?

Possibly. Coconut oil may be used during parts of the treatment. If you are returning to work or have plans afterwards, please let me know and I can adapt the treatment where possible.

Do I need to remove my clothing?

Yes, but only your top and shoes. I'll ask you to remove your clothing down to your bra before getting comfortable on the treatment couch.

You'll be wrapped in a soft towel, leaving your shoulders, upper chest (décolletage), neck and arms uncovered so I can massage these areas using a beautifully blended essential oil. You'll remain covered throughout the treatment, ensuring you feel warm, comfortable and completely at ease.

If you'd prefer not to remove any clothing or have oils used, that's absolutely fine. Indian Head Massage can also be performed over clothing without oils. Many clients find using oils provides a more deeply relaxing experience, but I'm happy to tailor the treatment to your preferences. Just let me know what you'd feel most comfortable with before we begin.

Can Indian Head Massage help with headaches?

Many clients choose Indian Head Massage because tension is commonly held in the neck, shoulders, scalp and jaw - areas that can contribute to tension headaches.

Can Indian Head Massage be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Indian Head Massage works beautifully alongside facial treatments, particularly Facial Cupping, and can be adapted to create a longer, tailored treatment experience.

How Will I Feel After My Treatment?

Most clients leave feeling deeply relaxed, calmer and more settled than when they arrived. Some feel sleepy and ready for an early night, whilst others feel refreshed, lighter and more energised.

If you're having Indian Head Massage as part of a regular wellbeing routine, you may notice your response changes over time. Some clients feel quite sleepy after their first few treatments as the body begins to unwind, while later treatments leave them feeling clearer, brighter and more energised.

Everyone responds differently, and there is no right or wrong way to feel after a treatment.

Ready to Experience the Benefits of Indian Head Massage?

If stress, tension or a constantly busy mind are beginning to take their toll, Indian Head Massage offers the opportunity to slow down, switch off and spend an hour simply being looked after.

Whether you're hoping to ease tight shoulders, calm a busy mind or simply enjoy some well-deserved time for yourself, every treatment is tailored to how you're feeling on the day.

You'll leave feeling lighter, more relaxed and ready to face whatever comes next.
